Hi all,

So I was playing Dying Light for around 3-4 hours solid last night, when it sounded as if the graphics card randomly shut down. Reason for this is the computer seemed to still be running.

Random crash at the time I thought, but thought it was getting late so went to bed. However again this morning same thing, but after about an hour or two. Wanted to be sure what it was so rebooted and went straight back into the game, but then an instant shut down.

No I can't get any signal on me monitor but the card is showing as lit up?

Interesting you should post this...it's been reported since release what the VRMs get insanely hot, 100c in some cases which has killed cards before. If you can confirm you get a signal from using your iGPU, it could be a dud card.

G1 & Windforce share the same heatsink

"Reinforced with G1 Durability
Boasting the highest-grade chokes and capacitors, the GTX 1070 G1 GAMING delivers outstanding performance and a durable system lifespan to take on today’s most challenging gaming demands.
The smart power LED indicator helps to ensure the system stability at all times. In case of any power abnormality, the flashing LED adjacent to the power connector could immediately bring the issue to the gamer’s attention; a consistent light signals power disconnection."

able to try another pcie socket or another pcie power cable ? if modular using from a different plug on the PSU

Worth a shot for sure, would eliminate the slot as the issue. I would also suggest testing the card in another system just to be sure. In the event you send the GPU back for RMA and it's not faulty, you would be stung for additional charges.

Anyone you know who could assist in testing?

with flashing light, would like to say power issue then GPU . thats everyones hopes in life :D

dont suppose you have a spare PSU?

would love to see de-bug LED like mobo's move onto GPUs rather then relying on one light to tell you a million things .... mmm
