Help 4 Heroes charity bash

No, thank you. If I choose to help "Heroes", then it certainly won't be paid murderers, and it won't be through a charity like this.

Still, kudos on the attempt.

To clarify, I support helping these people receive treatment, blah blah suffering blah blah, but I don't support the armed forces, and won't actively drop money in their direction.

You won't help people who save you and millions of innocent others from a world which would otherwise be shrowded in terrorism and uproar? We are only a democracy becuase of countless wars. You only have this view becuase you are lucky enough to be able to take a blind eye to all the problems and threats we face in the bubble that is the UK. Fair enough you don't agree with killing other people. I don't think anyone sane would like this to happen, but take a step into the cold world of reality and realise it's a necessery evil.

I was under the impression that the world is still shrowded in terrorism and uproar. I was also under the impression that the risk of danger to ourselves has INCREASED since we decided to go and violate Iraq and Afghanistan.

I am aware that wars have been fought in the past to protect democracy, but democracy isn't currently in jeopardy through an aggressor that our soldiers are fighting.

And despite your confident claims, I do not turn a blind eye to all the problems and threats we face.

I advise you to keeping your assumptions to yourself before making ridiculous statements about my personal view, thanks.

Spot the communist/liberal *****.... On topic though, good cause mate and I hope it's a success for you guys, and more importantly, for the people you're raising the money for because they really do deserve it. Risking their lives and horrible mutilation every day to try and protect and give freedom to people who can't fight for themselves is a truly honourable cause, so ignore the simpletons that can't see it for themselves.

Are you in the forces?

If not, why not?

So you'll support them if they're actively fighting for a cause you agree with (e.g. one that's saving your skin) but not one that they didn't really have a choice about?

Shouldn't this be kind of aimed at the government?

Anyway

Good idea buddy, I'll drop some ££ in

You'll find that generally most negative comments should be aimed at the government, rather than the forces. But it's the forces that get the flak, I'm used to it now, generally just zone out when people go off on one.

aye, I'm in full support of them myself (should be considering I want to join...)

I don't understand how people cannot realise...

I am not, because I am unfortunately a type 1 diabetic. Not really any of your business.

Anyway, I'm sure there are enough of us out there to actually help the heroes whether or not some people are so self-centred and/or ignorant to not understand the cause.

If sopmeone can get me Oizu's current lat and long I know a man who knows a man who has a few TLAM's.........they are good at hitting trolls hiding under their bridges.

To OP, top move mucker. This is the only other charity I give any money too as is one close to heart for myself. Lifeboats is the other one.

Agree with you Ghosteh, becomes a bit like tinitus the 'Lets bash the Armed Forces' rhetoric. Yes it is voluntary to join up in this country, but when you are in, you do not have a choice where you go to and what wars you fight in. The Government at the time decides that for you. No options of staying in bed and saying 'Nah, dont like the look of that one boss. looks far too sandy and far away for me'. Yes there is the choice of leaving, but to what and where do you find a job nowadays in a country that has the unemployment and deficit that we have?? Plus, it take you 12 months to leave too and they can and do keep you active right up to the point where you leave). Vent over with.

Happy to drop a few sheckles your way for this event mate. Just let me know how.

Great to see some support! Just getting everything finalised for the event before I make an official post.
Things like the donations need some serious thought, we are looking at having donations done directly with an ability for us to see who actually donated to be in contendership for the tournament. Obviously having the donations go through our paypal incur fee's but more over a trust issue with that.

So, bare with me on this, its not going away. Just getting the best possible solution in place.
