Hi Guys, I have a problem I can't sort out, I have TomTom Home installed and when I log in (connect the software to the internet) my CPU load shoots to 99% and stays there and when I end the task in Windows task manager its still at 99%, any Ideas

Thanking you in advance

in the processes tab, what is taking up most of it?

if it's svchost.exe, then disable automatic windows updates and reboot

Try uninstalling the offending item, could be av, the tomtom software etc reboot then reinstall if you can find later fixes etc great.

Thanks, bledd, brendy for the quick reply, in the process tab, TomTom HOME.exe is taking 99% CPU, in the Applications tab I end the task but it still shows 99% in the Processes tab, I try to end the process in the processes tab, I get the usual warning about ending the process in this manner but still click on end process but it won't end, I have to reboot as the PC is so slow. I have tried uninstalling the application and re-installing and even fired it up with the av and fw disabled (stupid) and connecting to the internet, but as soon as I connect to the internet it shoots up to 99% CPU?

I'm using the latest version,I'll see if I can find the previous version, I had similar problem with Adobe Reader 8 AutoUpdater, 99% CPU. in the end I renamed the AutoUpdater.dll to AutoUpdater.xxx and the problem stopped,
