That looks much better. Cooler answer was answered earlier.

Cooler is fine for £20. If looking for better cooling go for Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler, £15 more expensive but better cooler and can add another 120mm fan. (Probably quieter also).

All depends on how far you want to push your i5 2500K. The akasa fans are supposed to be very quiet too! I would spend the extra £15 personally.

Also

SATA CABLES ARE INCLUDED. ONLY TWO THO WHICH IS A BIT CHEAP OF THEM!!!

Yeah you can do. This is the cheapest one (excluding the 15cm one) but this is 90cm which is massive! The 45cm one here is £3.59. Seems quite expensive. Try looking at another online retailer who are doing 2x 45cm SATA cables for 93p and whilst your there should be able to get a DVI-I to DVI-I cable for about a fiver. (ocuk are out of stock of them).

As well as the AMD spec i have done for you, if your sure you dont need a copy of windows, then this is possible.

Enjoy!!!:D

This one seems great.

Yes.

You do have a copy of windows?

and as explained above, the ram and graphics card is on special offer until tomorrow morning(early)

and you say you will keep the cooler until funds allow for a venom? so do away with the freezer7 and use the stock supplied intel heatsink.

I have a copy of windows 32 bit lying around, although I will of course want to be getting Windows 64bit, are there any websites/ places I can get it for reasonably cheap (i know it will be expensive anywhere)
I am still a student, so is there a student discount or something? worth a shot :P

I would like to be using 5 fans in the storm scout, but I would also like the case to look awsome ;) any good blue/red LED fans I could get for its side slots?

I shall remove the fan from the list and get the venom in about a weeks time :)
But overall I think im good to buy, I would like to add 1-2 fans though with the money saved from the arctic cooler.

thanks again :D

How have you got Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit?
Presumably you have a valid licence do you?

If you have a valid licence they all you should need is a DVD/flash drive with Windows 7 64bit (can be downloaded) and then enter you key as long as it hasn't been used before / isn't currently in use.

Is it a Retail version or OEM?

Colleges are a good place to start with for cheap software, particularly OS.

anyone know to buy cheap but decent red/blue LED Fans from/ which to buy :D

Red fans will look good with the Storm Scout Case.

Enermax UCMA12 Magma Twister 120mm Fans are good from what I hear. Not sure if they have flashing lights (not a fan of having it look like a UFO personally).

But overall I think im good to buy, I would like to add 1-2 fans though with the money saved from the arctic cooler.

Use the stock intel fan to begin (your retail cpu will come with one). When funds allow buy the Akasa Venom. Remember you'll also need to get some thermal paste to be able to apply the new fan, (stock fan will come with "cheap" paste already applied to it).

Personally, I would just buy the Akasa Venom (& thermal paste) with the rest of the rig and not bother with the extra case fans, then get these at a later date (along with a second Akasa Venom 120mm fan. It will be MUCH easier and save you time in the long run.

Contact your school/college/uni's IT department re: cheaper software.

if you're on a tech related course (inc digital media type stuff) at a Large UK uni
then hopefully they have some sort of MSDNAA account, in which case you can get windows (along with office and anything else M$ think you might need) for free or severely reduced prices. As reference, while at uni I obtained windows 7 x64 PRO absolutely free, and Office 2007 ultimate (RRP £599) for £38.95

here is a link to T&C for the MSDNAA
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/academic/dd759402

edit: office was actually through a different distribution channel (called "the ultimate steal"), but price is what I paid

Thanks for all the help guys, bought the sandy bridge build with the Venom CPU cooler.
- going to look to get a student discount of Win7 64bit somethime this week.
next to buy- extra fan for Venom, 2 fans for my case, DVI-DVI cables.

Stulid and Shadow, thanks for taking time for this build!

No problem. Congats on purchasing the system. Hope to see some pictures up of it on here when things arrive and building gets under way.

A memory card reader is something like this. Allows you to access SD/MicroSD cards etc (from phones, cameras, etc). If your asking what it is you probably don't need it to be honest. Never used one in my life and seem to have got by with a usb cable!

With regards to TIM something like Arctic Silver 5 would be fine.

Regarding the Akasa Venom cooler and your case, you should be able to fit the cooler mounted horizontally (fans blowing air horizontally from front to back) and be able to mount both a second akasa venom fan and the top case exhaust fans.
