I'm looking at Krypton Z68 590i Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz Overclocked Bundle for a first new build.

I cant decide on AMD or Intel or if I even want the overclock, I still got some reserching to do so if anyone got directions to some good links about proccesers, z68 mother bords, genral pc building that will help me please post.
 
I'll let the more experienced guys provide you loads of info but the condensed version is 'get a 2500k or regret it' (assuming it's a gaming pc that is).

May I ask what you will be using your PC for?

If it is mainly gaming, and you don't want to overclock yourself - then the Kypton bundle you mention is a good bet (the i5 2500K CPU it uses is pretty much the best CPU for gaming out at the moment). Currently the Intel CPUs are much better than the AMD ones for gaming and the value of that Z68 590i bundle is really pretty good considering what you get.

Here is a very good system build guide.

If you are up for the challenge, you could buy the CPU/mobo/RAM/cooler separately and overclock it yourself. It will require a bit of reading, but it isn't too hard and will stand you in good stead for all your future computers.

Pretty much this.

100% 2500k have a look around pricewise, you can easily OC the 2500k yourself but if you want go with a pre OCed bundle then i would go with the Krypton :D

I'll be using it for auto cad and solid works for uni and then gaming/internet.

I think I hit my first student loan instalment enough, going to see what grx card and dvd rw I put in my old athalon crapard bell and see if its usable
 
The choices for CPU, HDD, RAM, case and OS are ideal.

For the rest, I would suggest going for this board (unless you need Z68-specific features), this PSU (the coolermaster GX 750W is not a great quality unit) and this CPU cooler.

As for a graphics card, I would suggest the HD 6950 2GB, if your budget can stretch to it. If not, a GTX 460 1GB or HD 6870 are good choices.

I like the board its cheaper then the one I specified and it is THX certified, Its on my new list!

for the graphics how good is the on board, as I only have games from the early 2000 so and the price of the 6870 I can get a blu ray drive and 30gb ssd and have HD movies in the bedroom, keep the wife happy
 
Ah, if you will only be playing very old games then the graphics chip built into the CPU should be fine. However, one of the features the P67 board lacks is access to this graphics chip.

Therefore going for a Z68 board like this one would be a good option.
 
I didt know I could get a free copy, I have seen student edition of xp for £99 in pc world ages ago thanks for the heads up.
