I updated my BIOS after recomendation on here. Went fine, restarted and windows loaded up.
Now my raid5 array has reset and is missing a hard-drive anyway. On the start up it doesn't even list what's all connected (skips that page) and I can't seem to enter the BIOS settings anyway.

Help I totally lost and confused what to do.

Enter the RAID controller settings on boot (if it's separate) and see if you can recover the previous config. If it was a build in motherboard RAID controller though you've probably wiped the settings by the sounds of it so unless the drives know how they were previously configured you might have to guess or restore (if you backed up the BIOS first).

Hopefully someone will be along shortly with a nice way of fixing it but I think you're in for a rough time.

done some researching and all hard-drives and stuff have changed to ide, this will need to be set back.
If I can get the raid5 back up then surely a partition recovery software will work?

Yup. Got it all back. First option for IDE set to Raid and then a second option was also IDE so set that to ACHI.

All reports where saying there's issues with changing the OS drive to ACHI as well as issues with arrays. But I think that was if the OS was on the array itself.
