Does this come with pre applied thermal pad? When I bought this it looked to have an clear square pad attached which I beloved to be thermal paste, also on the box it states that it comes with thermal paste but my friend reckons but I should order my own paste I'm confused and will days use do damage as nothing is showing on afterburner records?

The thermal compound will be pre-applied to the cpu cooler and not the cpu.

If your using the stock cooler then I would use the standard paste, if you decide on a after market cooler then use descent paste - but its up to you.

There should be a silver square shaped substance pre-applied to the bottom of the stock cooler.

When you say pre applied does this mean I should do anything and do you recommend I buy some paste & add it?

You will not need to do anything, install cpu in the socket then stick the cooler on top and secure.

I would use the standard / default paste as your using the stock cooler.

You take the clear plastic cover off protecting the base of the heatsink then fit it.

Can you post a picture up of the base of the cooler?

Ah good stuff I was scared then! I've had the computer running a day then he tells me that. On the instructions it says use 1 of there approved paste but then on side of box it says it's provided but the only thing I could see was the square on cooler or CPU can't rember which, as I say I have not seen any reason to supect anything wrong but wanted to make sure
