I've not flown anywhere since 1998 as i've got a fear of flying! Anyway, my work is sending me to Munich next Monday for 3 days to do training and i'm just after some advice on what to do with the ticket etc?

I've booked my flight online with Lufthansa and got a confirmation email with:=

"An electronic ticket has been issued for you. Your boarding pass will be available at lufthansa.com from 23 hours prior to departure. For identification please have your booking reference and your Miles & More Credit Card or the credit card which has been used at the time of booking ready. Alternatively you can also use the check in terminals at the airport to print your boarding pass".

So I presume I logon and print off my boarding pass tomorrow and then when I arrive at the airport goto the check in desk and hand over my luggage?

If my flight is at 11am and i'm travelling from Leicester, what time should I be setting off from home on Monday morning?

Please excuse my noobness!

Online check-in 23 hours before departure, print off your boarding pass.

If no luggage to check in, arrive 60-90 minutes before departure and go straight through security.

If you have luggage to check in, arrive 90-120 minutes before departure then go to bag drop/online check in queue.

Ah Luthansa... make sure they shut the doors properly as they fell off when I flew with them over Christmas!

Print off boarding pass, get to the airport 2 hours early, if you have luggage check it in at a check in desk. Head through the departures gate and sit around bored until your flight is called.

If you've already checked in online, you'll drop your luggage off at the Lufthansa Bag Drop. That's the easy bit, then prepare yourself for the hell of security.

My advice would be to take a jacket with you, put all your personal belongings (coins, passport, boarding pass) in your jacket pockets then put your jacket through the X-Ray. If you have checked in luggage then make sure all your liquids, such as toothpaste, deodorant etc are in that rather than your hand luggage as there are restrictions - you might just have to take it out and put it in a clear plastic bag, but if it's too big then they'll take it off you.

Details man, we need details! Was there screaming? Did the oxygen masks drop down? Did people's ear drums explode?

I'm a bit skint at the moment, so will 100 euro be enough for 3 nights stay in Munich?

Anything worth seeing in the evening over there?

€100 for 3 nights? May be if you stay in a hostel. It's a major city so like most cities, €100 a night is where the rough ball park is for hotels.

But if it's work training, are they not paying for everything?

Yep, work paying for hotel.

Do the taxi's take credit cards like Amex? I've got a company credit card to put most of the stuff on apart from personal things I might buy with my 100 odd euro's.
