Hi guys....

Over the last few months i have been pondering about Overclocking my CPU and have tried a few times but have not successfully OverClocked stably anything worth noting down, Only a few minor OverClocks by FSB.

Now i have very little knowledge on OverClocking except what i have read through forums all over the net, however i generally always come back to this site so decided i would make an account and ask for help on what i need.

My System Specs are:

Phenom II x4 945 95w 3.0ghz
Asrock n68c-s ucc
Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2 x 4GB)
GTX 550 ti
Corsair Hydro H60 Cpu cooler
Corsair 650w Enthusiast Series
Icute Jet Turbine Case
3 x 120mm Air Fans
1 x 140mm Air Fan

If i have missed anything then please ask and i will correct.

My Bios version is 1.50 as that may help, I try to Overclock to 3.6 ghz, now i can get the pc to boot up fine with this and i run occt cpu stress test ( not the linpack as im not sure what that does) My temps will run around 38 degrees on idle at this but as soon as i run the stress it will hop upto 55.5 degrees and either two things will happen either my PC turns itself off or i get an Uncorrectable hardware error BSOD though the BSOD will happen within the first minute of starting the test otherwise it will run for 2-3 minutes before the computer shuts off.

At the moment im doing this on stock settings as im completly lost by it all due to being a Noob lol, so i was wondering if there is anyone that could possibly help me out and i will do my best to follow advice and provide more info if needed....

Thanks again guys

what thermal paste are you using, your temps seem ridiculous for a watercooling set up, I run a 960t @3.6 ghz with a cheap air cooler and some AS5, and my temps rarely go over 35 degrees under load, swo your temps suggest that your cooling isn't coping, as well as the bsod suggesting that your voltage is either too high or too low (I'm new to OCing so can't give much of a detailed insight), with my spec 3.6 is stable on 1.37v, yours might be a different level, so experiment with slight voltage increases/decreases.

Well on the research i have done the 945 95w can be stable at 1.400v, which is what i changed it too, on this OCCT will run without Blue Screens but then the Desktop just powers off so im completly lost i mean my PSU is powerful enough for it and is also 80+ bronze certified, as for thermal paste its the paste that was applied to the cooler when i bought it, I have only had the cooler not even a week so i dont think the paste would have set soto speak as of yet...
