Help Appreciated

My New bits and bobs arrived today.
Core 2 Duo 6300
Freezer Pro 7
DS3P Rev 3.3
Geil 6400 LL
8800 GTS 320
XFI Music
Corsair 520 PSU

I have a couple of Questions, when I first powered on the rig it would turn on and off as if the PSU was switching every 2 seconds or so.
The only way I could get it to work was to remove the additional power supply lead from near the CPU socket.

Should the extra power not be plugged in?

now that I can get the thing to stay turned on I am getting no signal to the monitor from the 8800.
Any Ideas?

Very Strange I have put the extra power cable back in near the CPU as according to the book it needs this, same issue, on off on off without touching the power switch.

read some people are having problems with the boards and a reset of the cmos could help.

Shorted the CMOS and hey presto I am into BIOS.

Let the tweaking begin :-)

SATA which to use.

I have a SATA Optical Device
1 SATAII Hard Drive
1 SATA Hard Drive

Which SATA sockets would you plug the devices into and is there anything I need to set in Bios to get the DVD working?

I would just use SATA 1 and SATA 2 socket if you only have two devices, start off with the first socket etc. Nothing you need to do to get the DVD and HDD to work if they are SATA

Thanks for the reply just wanted to make sure there wasnt anything in particular needed to be done to get the sata2 drive to run at the correct speed.

Got the system up and running with a fresh install.
May try a bit of over clocking tomoz :-)
