Help between the GTS and GTX

How about treating youself to a nice 24" monitor and actually make use of the gfx cards power at 1920x1200. :p

I second this.

I couldn't even think what it be like playing games on a small monitor or a 4:3 monitor now days...

All i need to know is.... a GTX or a GTS - in 2 months the GTS will be outdated but is cheap. Yet the GTX will take a year before it starts to struggle.

you're kidding right? by the time the GTS starts to struggle both the GTX will be old hat as well.

imo get the GTS now and put the rest towards a proper high-end card which will be out by the time a game that needs so much power eventually materialises.

I benched my EVGA 8800 320 mb GTS running 650/2000 with a 6400 running at 3.6ghz and I get the same 06 score as I did with my 8800 GTX running stock with a 6300 @ 3ghz

Amazing bang for buck

I did the same my gts o/c came just 100marks of the gtx but try running a game with high aa/af then you will see the gts struggle, my 640mb version did, this is why i say 3dmark really isn't a good test to see how good a card is.

I couldn't run the games at the settings i do on the gtx, peeps seem to forget the gtx has more stream processors which makes a lot of difference in games with high aa/af etc. Bf2142 for example i can run smooth as anything with 16xqaa on the gtx could only manage 8x best on the gts with the same fps.

I had a 8800 GTX, sold it, this 8800 GTS is a stop gap and I can handle bit less AA in games.

These are remarkable cards for the money pure and simple.

Prey for example looks and plays the same with the same with the GTS as it did with my 8800 GTX.

I play 1680x 1050 and unless you want the best and play at higher res the GTS cannot beat beaten for the cash.
