Yeh its over 4 years old. Do you think the SSD is causing the problems? Would it be causing the other drives not to work?

The SSD may simply be dead, similar things happened to me when my old Vertex 450 died on me.

Oh really? So even though it boots with just SSD plugged in (which has windows on it) - the fact the others dont work could mean the SSD is preventing them from working?

It could rule out the SATA controller in your mobo doing something derpy.
