Hello everyone!

So I am in need of a new desktop.

I create a ton of videos and render them on sony vegas. So I need a top PC for rendering, playing the top games, and just for everyday multi tasking of a ton of programs at once.

I am able to spend around £900-1000.

Something that will run quietly aswell! My current PC is like a train!

Please give me the best components possible that would be the best thing for this.

Thanks a lot for any help I get!

Total : £790.36 (includes shipping : £9.50).

What do you have to re-use? If any.

I have a USB drive at the moment, a 2TB HDD. Everything else in my PC is old, I need to update massively, just because rendering like slows down the PC and it takes a hell of a long time right now. Will this be the perfect kit for me?

What case shall I get aswell? Are these all the parts I will need? I am quite handy when it comes to putting it altogether, just not sure this is everything I totally need!

Do you think this would be perfect for the rendering I do and so on?

Tbh, I would have thought so. You can OC the Cpu to get more out of it, the spec also includes very fast ram(which you can add another 16GB, if you need to) and a fairly decent Gpu with the benefit of Open CL for your applications. So, I would be surprised if it was not up to the task.

That RAM kit is very tall though buddy. I'd avoid it as it might cause issues with the heatsink.

1 x LG GH24NS95 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £17.99
Total : £1,002.24 (includes shipping : £17.85).

*SSD has slower write speeds but is cheaper. Better option than the standard Samsung 840 but the Toshiba is faster. It's the read speeds that you really notice when using the rig to be fair.

*16GB of RAM is still fast and pretty short, LED blue matches the colour scheme.

*GPU is clocked faster and has a longer warranty than the HIS

*Case is windowed to show off the internals and the PSU is semi-modular to help cable management

*CLC cooler is there as an option, using this removes any worry over the height of RAM modules btw.

Hope this helps. If you need an OS there is an evaluation of windows 8 to try for free on a 3 month trial. There is one for Windows 8.1 but the iso file to download (then burn to disk) isn't online just yet. I look forward to seeing what you settle on in the end :)

My bad, should have mentioned, if the OP did want to add more ram, then he would need a different cooler. But if he is only going to use 16GB, then the cooler will be all right, just means putting the sticks in slots 2&4.
Does it not help to have faster write speeds when editing or rendering? Which is the reason I included the Toshiba and not the Plextor.

That's why I added the CLC buddy which could be substituted into your spec. You know me I'm a bit of a tart and do try to style things and keep it all looking tidy together providing it's not costing over the odds to do so.

I did concede the Toshiba is faster fella. The MSI was more cash but had a longer warranty faster clock speeds and would look nicer in the build. The new Nvidia 760 has fewer Cuda cores than the 670 so I don't think that's worth considering but it's an option I suppose. He could save cash on the RAM using the Teamgroup thanks to the bargain CLC.

I thought the HIS GPU would be heavier but the postage is actually less using it. Yes I've left the flashy (pun intended) RAM in the spec but this is just fleshing out ideas so he can balance out something he likes himself :)
