Hi, I'm about to buy an SSD and would like some advice on which to choose. My motherboard is an Asus X58 Sabertooth TUF Intel X58 (Socket 1366). I'd like to run my system on the SSD so I'm not majorly hung up on space etc. If anyone could give me a bit of advice it would be really appreciated cheers! :)

More than enough space, I'd have thought. I have Windows 7 Premium, Photoshop CS2, Office Professional, Frontpage, plus all the usual stuff and thousands of large photo files and this takes up 27Gb in total.

+1 for the C300 64gb.

I have an OCZ Vertex 2E but I wish I had gone for the Crucial now. Higher read speeds, which is far more important to me :(

Cool beans, looks like I'll be ordering this tonight. One more question.... After hooking up the ssd, do you need to format the drive or do anything in the bios etc?

Cool, but I kind of need one asap as I'm trying to get my rig working again and want to install my os onto a ssd.

How soon is the C400 expected to arrive? And would it be around the same price point, and would if offer any significant advantages over the C300?

I was advised to check the firmware version and upgrade to the latest (which is 6) but mine had the latest firmware anyway. It tells you on the back of the drive what version it has. There are also plenty of pdf files on Crucials uk website telling you about upgrading firmware and pre install instructions etc. Basically I think you just fit it, boot from the Windows 7 disk and away you go.

Man somone has been watching his pr0n today

Back to the subject......... Does anyone have an eta on the C400? I was also looking at the 80GB Intel X25M, how does this compare to the crucial?
