guys i have changed my routers ip address - which I know- from the standard one, i.e i cannot log into the router - if i use the new ip address it still will not connect to the router?
i really do not wish to do a hard reset coz of all my port settings.

ip config gives me this info - connection - specific dns suffix :domain not set.invalid
ip address 70.32.132.64
ubnet mask 255.255.255.0
default gateway 78.32.132.193.

Any ideas please sob

if you can still access the internet through it, then the router's ip address will be the default gateway? or am i missing something... :p

YES

lol but for some weird reason it would not connect.
Anyhow had to do the dreaded reset and all seems fine.
Thanks marc for the reply, all the best to you. :)

Please dont tell me you changed your routers IP address to an address like above.

They are assigned by your ISP. You would need to use internal addresses and they can be found on a different page on the routers settings. What router model do you have?

It just went poop up, tbh there was a few heavy lightning strikes whilst i was farting about with it.

Doing a ip flush and renew got the correct log in ip back up on screen, just would not log into router interface, had to hard reset . oh well it's fixed now, cheers guys. ;)
