Hello looking for some help with an issue I seem to be having. Firstly a few specs for this PC:
Ryzen 3600 cooled via a custom water loop shared by a GTX 980TI (OC to 1450 Mhz)
Aorus x570 pro wifi pro ITX motherboard
Hyperx ddr4 ram at 3200
RM750 PSU

Now I had this set up in another case however wanted to downsize to ITX. On that board (Asus B450) had no issue with getting the PBO to work. Happily get 4.45ghz on some of the cores. Went with the X570 Auros ITX for the new build because it was at a good price and bit of an upgrade.

With this set up however even if i put the PPT,TDC and EDC to max (did this just to out right prove it wasn't working, did start just tweaking the settings) the CPU still seems to be locked at 4.1ghz. I have tried though Ryzen master, through the bios via manual settings and motherboard setting with no luck. I have a feeling i'm missing something very simple.

Below is the mothboard setting on Ryzen master when running some load:

And this is all the 3 settings cranked up:

Basically no matter what i do in Ryzen master or the bios under AMD overclocking the PBO just doesn't seem to be running and the CPU keeps to 4.1 Ghz.

I did use CTR 2.1 which worked great with some very good clocks with single core getting to 4.8Ghz and all core just shy of 4.4 Ghz. Issue was some games kept crashing when using this in the background so had to scratch that.

Can also get the CPU to 4.3 Ghz just by using the multipler and tweaking a couple of other settings.

Just seeing if someone would be able to direct me where to look. I think I am missing something very simple haha.

Thanks for the help.

Are you on a wonky BIOS version? Which BIOS are you on with the motherboard? Have you tried a different version?

For the PPT,TDC and EDC settings, I put them all to manual at 150. Buildzoid said that if you put them to stupid values, Ryzen freaks out and doesn't work properly. Try set them manually to the same settings as I have.

Using PBO, I can get my 5700X to boost to 4768mhz with a multiplier of 47.75. This is obviously higher than the stock multiplier of 46.

Thanks for the reply, yes I have tried two. Came with a out of date bios from 2021 I think, updated it to the most recent after I rearlised the issue. This however didn't change how the computer behaved.

I will have a go at setting them to 150 and get back on how it behaves. Did you do this within ryzen master or within the setting under the AMD overclocking tab? Did try doing 10 unit increase at first but again didn't seem to do anything.

Like i say would settle using CTR 2.1 but some of my games just doesn't like running with it which is a shame.

I used the BIOS. I find using Ryzen master a bit like this:

Change something

Click submit

Ryzen master exits EVERYTHING and reboots

I upset my VMware machine.

If you’re just doing basic changes, you can use the Ryzen Master software but using the BIOS is less effort for me.

Right had a got with setting all the options to 150 in the bois and results are the same, see snap shot below:

There isn't any setting within the Bios which could be overriding the PBO setting or preventing them from been used ?
