Hey guys,

Looking for some help with choosing a PDA for work, the teachers at work in question need a pocket sized PDA (So thinking a tad larger than an iphone and smaller than an iPad) which will cater to thier needs, as long as it will work on 5ghz wireless is the main thing for now, really not sure on good value/pricing as I have simply been asked to look into it, lets say max budget of £500?

Thanks.

I'm assuming so, they went from wanting an iPad, which would have been perfect, few cross dept arguments and are now insistinng on something "pocket sized", 7" may be a tad large.

Bit of a tricky one I think :(

Sadly not, PDA's themselves are obviously phasing out for smartphones ie: Android, iPhone, Blackberry, and as far as i'm aware, there's not a portable device with a screen under 5" diagonal that supports 5ghz wireless, unless you can think of anything?

I have a Dell Streak (with 5" screen) and I reckon it can just about get away with a 'pocketable' classification. Works great as a browsing device - it might fit the bill? It would probably be a good idea to get a loan of an Android phone first so they can determine if the apps suit their needs?

Hmm, could do the trick, I'll have to have a look into them & see if they support 5ghz wireless, too, no 2.4ghz in the school anymore!

The Dell donesn't have 802.11a support?

What are they going to be using it for? 7" tabs usually fit into most jacket pockets, they're quite portable.

If the iPad is too big then the £400-£500 Blackberry Playbook would be ideal?

Something smaller? The 4.3" Samsung Galaxy S2 supports 802.11a.

Thinking from looking round that the Dell streak does lok mpretty good, the 7" variant indeed looks like a good compromise in size, can't say I enjoy Android over IOS, but then again, I'm not going to be using it, and thats a different argument for a different day!

Do all Dell Streaks have slide out keyboards as i see some pics with & some look like they don't have it.
