Hi,

As the title says really, between the three drives listed below, is the SM961/EVO worth the extra £50 over the PM961? I'm thinking not for my use. I will be using it as my OS drive, general PC stuff (web browsing, bit of excel ect) and gaming. It will be fitted into a AM4 mobo for a R7 Ryzen setup.

Thanks.

I'm not using my MX100 as my OS drive at the mo, I'm using a much older 128GB SSD which I want to use in another PC. So on the hunt for a new SSD and was going to go for m.2 while buying now. It's between those three drives but don't want the pay an extra £50 for no noticeable gain in real world usage.

The pricing on NVMe is a bit wild at the moment so makes it confusing for buyers.

I'd put £20 value between each of those drives PM961 > SM961 > 960 EVO

At the top end the 960 EVO offers top performance and retail software/warranties but by choosing the SM961 you should be getting a discount for a smidgen less performance and less warranty/software so the current prices @ OcUK make no sense. Out of the three options you listed @ OcUK the best value is PM961.
