Help choosing tent and sleeping bag

A couple of years ago we bit the bullet and bought a folding camper / trailer tent, no more sleeping on the ground for us :D Buying second hand was cheaper than some of the 6-man tents too (we paid £450 for our folding camper). Proper sink, proper mattresses - arguably not camping though!
I'm going to guess that £450 was prior to covid!

I made the mistake of thinking we are car camping plenty space and treated myself to a Berghaus Air4XL. Sure it folds down but as my mrs is disabled I lug it myself and the thing weighs 28.4kg lifting it into the boot is fun :p

Ouch... I thought our family tent (Coleman Mosedale 5) was a monster at 17kg :D

Done my first wild camp at the weekend, so maybe not useful if your car camping etc.

I got a Ordos 2 - which is fantastic and light (1.4kgs). I also brought a 2 season sleeping bag, didn't sleep a wink as I was freezing! I've now invested in a liner, which may (or may not resolve this) before I buy a new sleeping bag. But I'm probably going to take the weight penalty and get a 4 season sleeping bag (damn they're expensive!)

Check out Alpkit and Decathlon.

Liners and a decent (but lightweight) sleeping mat will make the word of difference when wild camping (something like the ThermaRest NeoAir)

Sweet, I had one but a hand me down trash thing my sister had found in a cupboard. I've ordered a thermarest liner (quoted to add 8c!).

Damn those thermarest ones are pricy! I was looking at a £40 aplkit/decathlon number :p

i've got a Hudson 450 bag from Amazon, really warm and pretty spacious, downside is it's pretty damn bulky even after you wrestle it into the pack. i have an inflatable mattress, a rubber ground mat might serve you better though.
