Have to say I was hugely impressed with the MSI gaming 780. Mine gets to around 1300MHz core at no more than max stock volts (just over 1.2v).

Can i just ask why you are not entertaining a 290 btw? just out of curiosity

A) Nvidia fanboy?
B) read all the rubbish about the "it's too loud", "it gets too hot". All of which is now untrue with the custom cooler models.
C) friend/college told them about the driver issue they had with ati card last century(ok exaggeration there but you get the idea)?
D)?

Op, i spent a long time amd side, and last year jumped over to nvidia with 670's. Overall, it's been a more pleasant experience. Just haven't had issues with nvidia stuff where often had issues with amd

Can't go wrong with either. Haven't received the classi yet but theoretically the classified should be binned for higher clocks (if I understood pgi correctly in another thread) so could clock higher than the GHz edition. I suspect it is mostly down to silicone lottery. EVGA have superb support too.

I have 2 of the 780 Ghz edition cards in sli and they are great. Silent, low temps and 3 yr warranty..what more do you need.

2 x 290s maybe?
I'm really disappointed this thread is turning into what seems like the inevitable AMD vs Nvidia flamewar. I was kinda hoping it would be more of a reference in future for people who had the same question as I had.

Wow. I can't tell if you're an Amd fanboy, or just anti nvidia.
I'm neither, as I said I've owned cards from both companies.
guess people on the net don't understand sarcasm.
