Help! Computer has gone bonkers - continually flashing display on and off

Hi guys

You know when you change resolution and the screen flashes to black for a second, the white cursor hangs there and it comes back? Well that's what it's doing to me every few seconds!

I was using it perfectly this morning...went out for a few hours...came back, switched it on and it's doing it.

No-one has messed with the machine, nothing has been installed...

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers which hasn't made a difference.

Has anyone had any experience of anything like this? It's driving me utterly bonkers!

I'm going to try swapping from DVI to a DSUB cable...see if that makes a difference now...

Any thoughts in the meantime would be most appreciated!

Hmmm....I've just swapped the DVI cable and *fingers crossed* it seems to be OK...well it has for the last minute or so.

That'll be the first time in 17 years or regular computer use that a monitor cable has gone wonky on me!

Perhaps the old cable was loose?

Nothing as simple, believe me I checked that throughly first, on the GPU end as well.

I've changed the cable over and it's perfect again, a heck of a relief!
