I have been out of the web design game for ages now and decided to have a look around at some tutorials and came up with a design. I will admit I have totally ripped the idea from a tutorial but its a start and lets me get back into learning Photoshop and how HTML and CSS work.

The site design is here

So in the past I would start and chop this up and slices then start and stick it into tables using Dreamweaver. But I want to have a bash at arranging this is HTML5 and CSS3 but have no idea where to begin. Can anyone help me out with maybe a good place to read etc?

Thanks

I did find it a bit pernickety. They seem to want to make out that very tiny mistakes are complete deal breakers. Someone at w3fools has a bit of an agenda I think.

Sorry guys, but in no way is it harsh. It deserves attention because W3schools tends to come out top in google.

I believe that means they have a responsibility to ensure the information they present is correct and up-to-date.

Understanding the theory of a programming language is very important and when the most commonly used resource is spreading incorrect information, it becomes worrying.

Most web professionals are aware of this, but some arent (sorry RobbieG) through no fault of their own and will recommend the resource to others believing what they have read to be correct.

Imagine the same was done in medicine, or other engineering professions. The information in resources like W3Schools needs to be spot on and not just 'good enough'
