HELP Corsair 2gb xms 3200 no post problem :(

Hi folks just received my 2x1gb DDR Corsair cmx1024re-3200 xms3200re v3.2 3.3.3.8 this morning and put them in my comp pressed the power button and got no post, so i cleared cmos tried again and nothing, i tried each individual stick again nothing, tried single and dual channel again nothing! placed my old twinmos pc2700 back in and booted first time!

can anyone help me get this corsair ram working? or suggest anything that i may have missed?

with the " re " at the end of the model, id be inclined to say its registered RAM, only compatable with specialist server boards generally

hmm i thought it could be registered but the guy i bought it from claims he was using it with his asus a8n premium :confused:

? and think it's pretty much going to be sent back to him

He's probably talking rubbish, that won't work in your board, its ECC registered RAM.

It was me who sold him the RAM in the For Sale forum and it worked absolutely fine in my A8N Premium since I bought it, I swear! I've already said he can send it back to me for a refund though so no probs there!

it's a strange one alright! I sold my old rig so I can't test it on that one again, but i've got a few at work I can try it on instead.

Sorry to butt in, but i thought you could run ECC ram in ANY pc... I'd never buy it personally, too expensive, but i was never told it will ONLY work on certain motherboards... :confused:

well either way the short and curly's are that it doesn't work in my motherboard so nm
