I have a P4 560J 3.6 Processor with 'ASUS Star Ice' cooler which have worked fine for the year and a half Ive had them. However, during the last week the CPU has been idling around 55c. I do a lot of 3d work and when rendering the computer gets to over 70c and eventually reboots.
I have opened the pc up and given the heatsink a quick wipe and some new thermal grease but this hasn't resolved the problem.
Is it possible there could be something wrong with the processor itself?
