Help determining bottle-neck?

Hello.

I'm here to ask for help determining what'll be the best upgrade to go for next when it comes to gaming.

I'm quite happy with the system I currently have, but I've noticed that a few of this years latest games are making me drop from ultra/high to medium to sustain an Average FPS of 50+.

Current spec:

i5 760 @ 3.2GHz
2x4GB XMS3 Corsair
HIS HD 5770 @ 910 Core / 1320 Mem.
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200RPM

I'm 80% sure it's the GPU causing the bottleneck, but before I go spend a hefty sum on a new piece of hardware, I'd like to have a little confirmation / advice.

~ Which leads onto my second question, going by my current setup, how much of a good GPU can I get before it leaves behind my system?
(preference ATI, but bang-for-buck is considerbale too).

P.S I'd prefer a single GPU setup rather than Crossfire/SLI

Thanks in Advance,
Mitch.

definitely the gpu, pretty sure your cpu won't even bottlenech a 580, so it should be fine, do you have a budget, and a good psu?

550W Hypertech or HyperX? something along those lines(can't remember brand, got it as a gift and fitted without seeing) I believe, but if & when I do upgrade I'll probably have enough to fork out for something of a higher standard.

As for budget specifically GPU wise, nothing like a £300 + card.

Edit: Brand is not visable without dismounting, so I can't get a confirmation, apologies.

Like I say GPU budget preferabley around £250 max, but up to £300 if it's worth it.

PSU - I don't have a set price, but I would prefer to go for something as low priced as possible without sacraficing too much. (I.E budget PSU)
