ok, the system works other wise i wont be here... but does NOT work 100% correctly and here is why...
1. I have to reset CMOS everytime to load up
2. when i restart the system i need to do 1.
3. when i turn off i need to do 1.
4. when i save in BIOS or do ANYTHING and save i need to do 1.
so basically the system will not start properly without the reseting of the CMOS
i've done the following:-
new battery
new PSU (600w) plugged all 4 leads into the Mobo too)
different mem
new BIOS chip
tried booting with 1 stick of mem
tried cold booting
holding insert key
unplugging all USB
and others which i cant think of because i'm knackered at the moment
my specs are:-
AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Venice Core
2 x 1GB G.Skill PC3200 2-3-2-5 Dual Channel
DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR Mobo (BIOS 6/23/2005)
ATI Sapphire 256MB RADEON X800GT PCI-X
any other ideas would be welcome to solve this PROBLEM other wise i'm throwing this in the bin... or maybe using it as a dart board (and yes i would)
