help! dns problem?

dear all,

i'm having to temporarily use a speedtouch wireless router, and they are shocking!
since i have attached to my network, set it up.. it will connect to the internet, but in XP, when i try firefox or IE to browse.. it tries for a minute to load the page, and then tells me page cannot be displayed?

so i boot into Ubunutu - and there are a handful of sites that work - only about 6 i've found so far.

any idea why XP won't browse at all, and ubuntu will only browse a few?

please help!!!

oh, i can't change DNS settings in the router. i thought i'd have a go at freedns or something

could anyone have a look and see if there's an announced problem with plusnet?
