Help: E8400 Overclocking

Well idle temp is around 45-47c.

Load is above 70c.

I am not using it 24.7. Just oced it to 4.5ghz for 2-3 hrs.

Now at 4ghz.

Will post screenshot of 4.5ghz temps etc.

lol i love suicide runs....very brave of you.....pics or it didnt happen!
mines is sat @ 3.6 but i h8 the fan noise....may look to get a corsair H50.

Good job on the 4.5ghz but like everyone else has been saying, put the vCore down! Wayy to high.. I've got my E8200 running at 3.8ghz at 1.25v. I was scared to put it at 1.35.
Also, even though you've managed to run the system at 4.5ghz, it may be the case that the chip will never be stable at that speed regardless of what settings you have in your bios.

Well, first of all, i ran it for just few time to tun benchmarks like winrar,3dmark06 and vantage. Thats it. but it was not unstable for normal use. didnt passed the stress testing.

For 24/7, i m at 4ghz with 1.28 vcore :)

"some" (and i mean a handful) of the C0 chips degraded at higher vcores, I've not ever heard of an E0 being degraded or any of the newer steppings. There have been tests with people running full load for months at 1.5-1.6vcore with no degradation.

However that doesn't mean it should be recommended... I try to keep it 1.4V or under....I've noticed that over 1.4V doesn't yield a whole lot anyway unless you are going for suicide runs.

I think that's all you can get out of it in all honesty.

I can only see improvements happening if you lower your mulitplier and up the bus speed but that varies with what you're using now.
