Help -> "EVERYTHING" has stopped working

Ok.. Whenever I open a program, I randomly get the "PROGRAMNAME has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

This is happening with coretemp and Windows Media player at the moment.. it's getting very annoying, and I wish I had stayed with XP this morning when I decided to upgrade..

Anyone experiencing these problems?

Used to happen to me. Turned out it didn't like my memory settings. Slackened the timings a little and all has been fine ever since.

I think there has been a dodgy update released, I have noticed a few problems recently as well.

When I say used to happen to me, I meant when I first went to Vista over 6 months ago. Now it runs better than XP ever did

When you say you 'upgraded', does that mean that you installed Vista straight over XP, or did you format etc first?

Timings = 5 - 5 - 5 - 15

I get a similar problem, except that half my programs get the "Not responding" error when I close them
