That looks like the old non-earthed US 2 pin connector. Can’t seem to find one for sale so far.

Okay, I’m going with the female plug that fits that male socket being an IEC C9.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEC_60320

If you can get some measurements of the hole and pin spacing, it should be easy to confirm.

These chaps seem to sell what you want if it is indeed an IEC C9:

Thanks.

I don't think it's the C9 though it's too thin although the pins almost fit.

I came across this post,

https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?p=715654

It turns out it could be a very rare connector which he calls the 5815 plug.

I had someone measure the projector plug and it seems to be same dimensions as this 5815 give or take a mm or so but that's probably due to inaccurate measuring.

These are the dimensions of the 5815.

This rare plug is almost impossible to find it seems.

If your interested read the last post in the first link.

Also here's a link to a plug museum with the plug I'm needing number (30) I think.

Where does it say it's a C9, similar maybe but not C9.

This video explains it, it shows the difference between a C9 and 5815.

If you click the link in note 2 the center top option looks like the one on the first page, click that and translate to english and it's the C9

There are subtle diferences between the 5815 and C9 and the only one of inportance is that the C9 has no earth connection but the 5815 does. This is the single most important thing.

Damn, how could I not find these?

In the end I had googled "6A 250V 5815" and that got me those pages ;)

Nope, watch the YouTube video above, the holes in the C9 are too short, he tries to fit it in.

In Note 2 it says,

These appliance connectors and machting inlets can be regarded as precursors of the woldwide accepted ICE 60320 standard for appliance couplers

They are similar but different enough that they are not compatible.

Anyway those sites don't ship to the UK but thanks anyway.

Yep you're gonna need a Czech or Slovakian friend to help you out here lol
Unless you need to keep this connector for some reason, perhaps you might consider changing it to the easily available kettle type

The plug comes without a cable, I take it I can just attach a lead from a PC kettle lead to the plug, or any lead for that matter?

Yes the earth is the only connection that matters the live and neutral can go to either left or right.

I got plugs today but I'm not sure which way the live and neutral wires go, I could guess BLUE left and BROWN right, the EARTH is obvious.

Do you think it will matter which way round they go?
