Help finding a bluetooth thingy

Never heard of anything like that and doubt it would exist sounds like a very niche requirement.

Why do you need to connect a separate microphone?

If you buy a bluetooth connector that supports an in line mic it will have a port that can accept a plug with the 3 components. You may be able to purchase a splitter which splits the 3 signals to two separate ports and connect separately.

Edit: I've just had a search and those cables do exist, search around for 3.5mm microhpone earphone splitter.

I think that, paired with almost any bluetooth adapter that supports an inline mic should work. Can anyone confirm?

I want to use it when cycling. An inline mic or a mic built into the unit isn't good enough due the amount of wind noise.

My plan is to use a throat mic, or directional boom mic.

so you think I might need a splitter with a 4-pole connector?

There are a lot of competitors advising stuff but what you're looking for is somethingl ike this:

"StarTech.com 3.5mm 4 Pin to 2x 3 Pin 3.5mm Headset Splitter Adapter - Headset splitter - 28 AWG - mini-phone 3.5 mm 4-pole (M) - mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm (F) - black"

A lot of them are advertised for use with a normal PC headset.

Again, this should work but I have not tested this setup at all so can't guarantee it would work. Although... It is possible I have the connectors I need to test this out at home with my Astro Headset...

I'll tell you what, I'll see what I've got when I get home and see if I can get it working like this.

Have a look at a Samsung HS3000 Bluetooth adapter, it's a small unit with built in mic with a 3.5mm socket for headphones.

Sony Ericsson MW-600 Bluetooth Stereo??
You can use your own earphones if you like or any 3.5mm headphone. The unit itself has a microphone probably not very good for windy conditions.

I tried to test a splitter cable but the only Bluetooth receiver I had was one with a built in mic doh
