The tires on my MX5 are soon going to need replacing. At the moment I have what I think are Goodyear eagle F1 gsd's, I'm not sure if they are 2 or 3, and not sure if there's any difference there anyway.

Either way, the tread looks like this: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/images/tyres/GSD3.jpg

I've got on well with these tires, and they seem well rated by other MX5 users. Problem is, I can't see to find them anywhere! I rang up my local place who's done my tires in the past for previous cars and he's told me that they aren't in production, which I don't think is true? A quick look at the usual suspects online doesn't seem to turn them up either =/

Oh, the size is 185/60/14

No, not really.

The F1 Assymetric replaced the GS-D3 in 17" and above. The GS-D2 remains available in 14" and they still do GS-D3 in some 14" sizes, 15" and 16".

I think I might just scrap getting some new wheels, and get some GDS2s or GSD3s. Any idea where I can get the GSD3s in 14" livery?

Thanks, I'm at work atm so not had a chance to have another good look to see if they do them in my current size. I am having a lot of trouble getting hold of them though for some reason! I'll have a ring around at the weekend, but if anyone could turn any up online I'd be very grateful :)

Crumbs when did they stop doing the gs-d2 in 16". They are the only thing really reccommended for the MG and it's meant to be a tyre sensitive car. Could be fun and expensive trying out different tyres that don't want to work with my car. I got my last set of 4 in March and they should get me through the winter!

You can't, only GSD2's in 14". Infact looking at the Goodyear website they only make the one 14" tyre now. Goto 15", for my mx5 I was able to get 195/50/15 Toyo T1-R's for £30.95 each.

15" is tempting but I don't know what wheels to get. I REALLY want some of the original 15" BBS ones but they're like hens teeth it seems, the newer mk2 ones don't suit the mk1 IMO.

Or there's Rota RBs. But I can't help but think in the back of my mind the deep-dish jdm y0 look is a bit too bling :o They do look nice though
