Right this is what i came up with just a few concerns. The sound card I am getting I think might be overkill, I only really game at present on my current PC. Should i perhaps downgrade this. Main reason i was drawn to it was the control unit.

Zotac seems to be a silly amount cheaper than the other 295's on offer my understanding that they were all just the same generic hardware at this point I could not see why I would want to pay extra for the others.

I have put the other 20" in for having 2 displays running of the PC and plan to swivel it around for web page viewing mainly.

Is the CPU cooler going to be ok for trying to get a ok overclock on the i7 ? Will it fit in the case ok ?

I plan to order it early tomorrow morning what time would you guess it would arive the next day I wondering if i should take a day off hoping to get it early and build going :)

Any other comments welcome :)

Vista ultimate seemed just a big excuse for me to splash more cash on stuff i definitely would not use :)

I am tempted by the Asus sound card .... hmmm

How come your getting an xbox too? Kinda defeats the purpose of getting a high-end system capable of playing games at max settings.
I would get SSD in raid for OS and 1TB for games/storage.

Oh and i believe zotac has a 3 year warranty if your spending £400+ on a card i would probley get BFG/Evga which has 10 year warranty.
Also the soundcard is abit ludicris lol, the x58 mobo has built in 7.1 sound and i don't think you'll really notice the diff between dedicated and intergrated in real time.

Mainly for playing on Live with some work friends but might remove it atm feeling that i would have the time for it.

Was planing on SSD but finding it hard to justify spending cash on something that will come down quite a bit soon.

You could save some cash on that RAM...OCUK have several kits that are cheaper and just as good.

Cheers only reason that memory is there is that I have had it in the basket for so long while I have been waiting on reviews on SSD's

Surely 10 years is over kill its unlikey to last past 3 years at which point I expect 90 quid will buy me a better GFX card if it has blown. I expect Ill replace it sooner rather an later as My GF's machine will need upgrading soon.

I got the impression there were quite a few benefits of not using the internal sound card but I am happy to cut it out of the spec.

get the sound card as a later upgrade if you are not happy with your onboard sound:D

but erm yes i would think a 4870x2 would be adequate enough unless you want to wait a few more weeks for the ATi 4890 series cards as for the RAM you can pick up either Gskill or OCZ or PATRIOT RAM for much cheaper:D

Got rid of sound card and xbox. Will have to order the vertex's later when they are in stock. Changed the memory for something cheaper. Got the its shipped message at 10:00 so hoping i should have it tommorow booking day off to clean up a bit before i start the build. Will post some pictures etc.

At home waiting for the bits and bobs what would you do ??? bored as hell any prep work you would normally do ?

Also should i use the thermal compond with the cooler or the AS5 stuff i ordered cheers :)

On van about an hour ago might have it soon !
