Hope this is the right section, if not move as appropriate.

This might seem light a basic problem but it doesn't seem to be working. What I want to do is share folders from my laptop, my sisters laptop and my mothers laptop so that I can back it up on a server. The server is just running a sync program on Windows 7. The laptops are running Vista or 7.

I'd like the folders being shared to be passworded and that works fine for my laptop, but can't figure why my sisters won't work. It only works if I set her folders with access from the user 'Everyone', other wise it won't work if I set it to her profile on the computer and her password. It just says that it can't access the folder and doesn't even seem to ask for a password. I've had a quick look online but I can't find what I want for some reason.

I'm sure that the server computer should be able to have access to multiple computers over the network so I can't see why this doesn't work.

Any help?!

could be windows firewall or another blocking it, Vista/7 folder sharing isnt always straight forward for some reason

Hmmm. I'm not so sure it is anything to do with the firewall as I said it works if it's set to allow the group 'everyone' to access it but if I set it to my sisters profile on her laptop then it won't allow me to access it. It just says it's unaccessable doesn't even ask for a password.

I tried to add the username from the server but it straight up won't allow me to do that as they're not on a domain, and I'm not too sure bout setting one up.
