I guess everyone on here must see this a lot.
I'm looking at building a new system and have put together the following list of hardware. Just after any advice/alternatives people could give me.
Will be used for web development, graphic design, RAW photo development/editing, light video editing and mild gaming. I say mild because i only play ET:Quake wars and it isn't the most demanding game around, some CoH and soon Warhammer Online.
OK here goes.....
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)
Asus P5N-D nForce 750i SLi
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/XMS2 Memory CL5(5-5-5-18)
OcUK GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache (OS Drive)
2x Seagate 500GB Hard Drive SATA II 7200rpm 32MB Cache (RAID 1, storage)
Coolermaster "Dominator" CM690 Case
Coolermaster 520W RealPower Pro Modular PSU
Optiarc 20X DVD±RW/DL/RAM Internal SATA
Yeah thats about it, will run 64bit Vista home prem.
I dont know if it would be better to go for a 9600 GT due to my gaming needs not being so high. I have a Samsung Syncmaster 223Bw 22" LCD as a screen, logitech g5 mouse, and logitech 540x 5.1 speakers
Would a soundcard be a good idea or is onbard sound good enough for listening to mp3/Dvds and the games i stated above.
i have run out of space in this post so yeah, thanks in advance.
