hey all,

i'm needing to buy myself a gaming mouse and keyboard. i'm looking to spend roughly £30 on each but i am prepared to spend alittle more if its really worthwhile.

i'm wanting a laser mouse that is big(ish) in size which has atleast 5 buttons on it. i'd prefer a mouse that didnt have buttons down my pinky side as i have never been comfortable using those fingers for buttons. i'd prefer just to stick to using my thumb, index and middle finger. looking sleek is also desirable. :)

the keyboard has to be of normal size, has silent keys and nice to look at.

any ideas?

thanks!

I've been very happy with my Razer Habu Mouse and Reclusa keyboard. They both look cool (they glow blue!) and we're quite good value IMHO.

I still suck at games, but hey, they glow blue! haha

regards

You might want to look into a refurbished MX revolution, it's a bit far out of budget but's actually a really nice mouse and everything you've asked for. Also, have a look at the G11 for a keyboard (a high street retailer that I can't name have them for £25)

Logitech MX518 / G5 / G500
Microsoft Reclusa keyboard

MX518, Best gaming mouse ever ( have a spare one in cupboard) as to keyboards I use a generic one, as I have tried all the so called gamer ones and not one have I found to be comfortable to use G11 been the worse of the lot in my opinion.

Like the look of the Microsoft Reclusa keyboard, and will be trying it out soon ..this week I guess

I use the Logitech G500 mouse and G15 keyboard, good setup, best mouse i have ever used, and i have 2 spare G5's to prove it is worth the money.

i use the habu and reclusa combination like a few others in the posts before, the mouse has 5 buttons but it hink you can change some of the button configurations. I like them and i think they both cost me bout 50 quid for both about a year ago. Love the blue glow matches the blue glow on my samsung monitor hehe.

For the last 2 weeks I've been using a razer lycosa mirror edition keyboard and a razer deathadder.

They are very good to work with... still haven't tried them for gaming. The deathadder is exactly like you want... 5 buttons with no pinky required...

I have the same Keyboard, however i use the Copperhead as my mouse... I indeed have tried and tested them both at gaming, and these components both have excellent response times and have many options to change to personal preferences...

G15 keyboard and razer naga mouse here, absolutely love both of them, ive always been a logitech mouse man but the naga is superb. Only had it 5-6 weeks so cant comment on its reliabilty yet but my keyboard is around 18months old now and still going strong

To be very honest I think you should go to a big store who has the lot of them on show and try them. You'll find out which one you like the most. And don't be distracted by all the 900.000.000DPI and polling rates, most laser mouse now are extremely good :)

I have to second this, its really more personal preference than anything else.

considering ive got the deathadder (not just following others) i highly recomend it, as for keyboard cant help has ive never had the need for silent keys sorry.
