Just moved house and basically all the walls in the house solid bricks. I'm getting only 1 bar of wireless signal downstair as the modem/router located upstair.

So i'm planning getting new modem/router 'N' for upstair computer and for downstair will connect PS3 and another pc and a laptop (already Draft 'N' built in).

My question is what should i get along with Wireless N modem/router so i can get good signal downstair for my PS3 as for pc probably will be using wireless adapter?

The modem/router i'm thinking is Linksys WAG160N.

Many thanks :)

edit: was looking at RangePlus-N and save me money getting wireless adapter for downstair pc but not sure this is the best solution for it?

Get some "homeplug" (200Mb) network over the mains devices? e.g. to extend you network in each area?

I don't think upstair and downstair using the same circuit, but i'll check it first.

If possible using homeplug, which homeplug should i get?

If it not possible, what are the options?

Thanks

you could try high gain directional antennae on your wifi card and router.

Alternatively discreetly run a cat5 cable from the router to a point downstairs and get an access point to cover downstairs.
