Tr to get online with Mario Kart, put in the SSID and WEP but when i click test connection it fails.....set get ip and DNS to auto. I don't know what else to do.

The router is set to disable SSID broadcast, but i've tried it with it enabled and still the same error. Added the mac address of the DS to the router as welll. Anyone got an idea how to fix it?

EDIT, tried the following now

Turned off SSID
Put in Mac address in router
DS see the router, put in WEP, fail connection test !!!!!!!!!!!! Why??? :(

If i disable SSID, it loses it, even thou i got the name put in the DS..... :(

so confused

DS Lite doesn't like SSID and WEP. I'm pretty sure there's a way to make it so that you dont have to use those and still get it to work. if there isn't, you'll have to get the USB adaptor.

i thought you couldn't see the fascination with them anyway?

If you have a Netgear DS834g router you`ll find it works straight away if you upgrade the firmware.

If you dont however, no amount of messing or tweaking will get the damned thing to connect :-(

Good luck :p

ok,

make sure your using wep 128bit 13 char keys are fine for it.

Also make sure you hadnt done what i did,

appears the ds is 802b not g, i had g only enabled on my router. soon as i set it to b,g it connected.

whats 13 character keys ?

I am using 128bit WEP already, the router can see the DS, the DS see the router at auto detect. Except it fails the test connection.

Well i am using 64bit WEP on my Router (linksys) and my DSLite works fine with it.
Is it maybe the firewall on the router??
Stick the DS in a DMZ and see if that helps? you might need to enable port forwarding?

Edit - if you use WEP try using transmit Key 1 and channel 11

Key 1 only available in 64 bit WEP, already using chanel 11.

I've now enable SSID broadcast, Router now see the DS
put in mac address
Using 64bit WEP

Error 51300, confirm DS wifi connection settings and accesspoint settings.........................

I am totally baffled !

tried turning off WEP alltogether, got a new error

"unable to obtain ip address, move within range of access point or check DHCP settings"

I am 2 feet away from the acces point ! and what do i do about the DCHP ????

try your firewall settings, and look for a De-millitarised zone. put the IP address of your DS in there. or have a look at some of these to see if they might help

Fixed now ! got online, but i have a problem

I cant seem to get it to find the router if i disable SSID broadcast even if i put in the name....

anyone found the same thing?
