first build, first bot up and i get the gigabyte screen and then the message ' loading operating system.... DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER' i have windows 7 in the cd rom drive and have set it to boot cdrom first. Help, what am i doing wrong..... the other drive is a wd caviar black , both are plugged into sata 6 ports

Have you plugged power into both drives too?

Double check the SATA cables are fully in at both ends.

Power plugged in on both drives and sata cables connected, cd rom drive working away, hard to tell if the hdd is working

try different SATA ports, then if that works, check the BIOS for RAID settings that maybe screwing with the SATA 6 ports.

Are all the SATA ports on the mobo linked to the same controller?

Only reason I ask is I've had the problem before where for one reason the Install DVD doesn't like booting when connected to one of the controllers on the mobo

have tried plugging them into the other sata points, still get the same error message on the screen, what should the raid settings be?, im a bit lost ! first build. not sure if the sata ports are on the same controller,im usung a gigabyte p67 ud4 sata 6 connection

Win 7 installed, the internal drive tray wont stay open, it ejects and goes back in straight away and it's not showing up on ' my computer' either... what could it be?
