You need to format the floppy disk first as a MSDOS boot disk, then install Memtest+ onto it.
Thats odd, Ive just done a 24 hour memtest and simply formatted a floppy and extracted memtest onto it.

What would be the maximum Vcore to use on a CPU then? I'm having to use 1.525v to get 9x401 with my E6600... Temps are too high because of the retail heatsink so I wont be putting a full load to test stability....

When I upgrade tho :D :D

I can get it to boot into windows at 3.24ghz(9x360) at 1.38v no problem now. But it just will not run orthos with out throwing up errors.

What voltages are you guys running??

im running

Processor: 1.38
Memory: +0.3
MCH: +0.1
FBS: +0.1

Cpu 1.38v and mem is set to 3.25v in bios Orthos would fail on my system until I gave the mem some more power.

P.S. all other voltages are set to default.
sorry 2.35v my fat fingers

Yeah that's all you need to do, the extraction program basically makes the disk bootable for you.

I never managed to get memtest to work properly... came up with the same the gents did in the black screen rather than having the blue memtest screen... Something not right there...

I am talking about Memtest+ here, and it didn't make the disk bootable for me.

Have you tried different BIOS for your board? The latest one isn't always the best depending on RAM compatability.
Make sure you are confident with the process of flashing your BIOS before starting.
