HELP !! How can I recover my files !!!

Calm down dear....

Your photos are still retrievable- there are 2 commonly-used methods of file retrieval.

1) Put the hard disk in another machine as the "slave drive" and copy them from one machine to the other, then onto some form of removable media such as CD-R.

2) Use a boot disk such as knoppix or BartPE and then copy them off the machine to a pen drive, over the network or to a CD.

OK thanks, If I do option 1 and attach my harddisk to my son's pc. Do i just connect it to the same cable as my son's hd and will it be recognized by his pc ? sorry I'm a bit of a noob at this .
 
You will have to change the jumper settings on the back of the drive so it knows its a slave drive. Once thats done, yes just wack that bad boy into your sons pc and windows should see it :)

That way doesn't work if the person has their own desktop and set it to private.

At least it didn't for me. On my parents' computer I my desktop set to private and then I upgraded their PC including new hard drive. the old one's still there as a slave and still has my documents and settings folder on it which I can't get into.
 
if like said above just reset the permissions, can't remember how to do it off the top of my head google it, but to fix that error just repair install.
