HELP!!! Ice Dock & Hard Drive Speed Problem
Hi all, Ive just purchased the Icy Box External Enclosure IB-390StUSD-B 3.5" eSATA + USB 2.0 Combo & Docking Station which is just what I was looking for as I wanted an internal drive and also external so I could use it on other computers.
I am using this with the Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB hard drive and am having loads of problems.
If I plug the drive directly into the motherboard without caddy then on HD Tach im getting 253mb/s but if I install the drive in the caddy and then use the drive im getting speeds as shown below..
Ive tried the caddy in a friends computer system as well and exactly the same problem and we even used one of his hard drives...
All connections that are coming off the docking station seem solid enough and there seems to be no loose wiring.
Would you guys say that the caddy is knackered?? Ive tried everything I can and im now stuck..
