This isn't good. My sense of humour might be about to get the better of me. I'm seriously considering bidding on this:

The temptation to own something truly, truly crap is almost overwhelming. The rational part of me recognises that V8 powered Gremlins are so nose-heavy that they actually fulfil the stereotype of American cars exploding as soon as they reach a corner, and that in virtually every respect they are appalling cars. The oddball, warped part of me says "ah screw it, you know you want one really".

And that voice is right. I do. And for the life of me I can't think why....

Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!
Do it!

Price is already getting a bit high (heading towards $10k). Still....

Argh! No! I have enough on my car-plate right now with the Olds plans almost coming to fruition.

Still....

Quick.

Go and buy this book, and then read it cover to cover.

I wish you a swift recovery.

Ten grand???????

US Dollars. Even so, a bit steep for what is essentially a car that will only appeal to the lunatic fringe. Like me.

And to move understeer from stupid to frankly ludicrous, fit a big block...

Hmmm. Gremlin + 440 RB Mopar motor + six-pack carbs.

Hmmm.....

Okay, so this is bad news. I can see the Olds budget taking a hit fairly soon if I'm not careful.

How cool is that???

That car must be an utter riot to drive. I don't care what you'd driven in the past, what you own now. That will be more fun.

Go buy that gremlin!!! I must be honest i've considered buying one myself.. or a Pacer.. Yes i know i'm a lunatic, but.. then go to a smashed car auction and get a destroyed range rover TDV8 and put that engine (very, very light for a v8) in it. Give it a bit of a tune, and you will have quite possibly the most insane (and coolest) car in christendom.

I'm not joking either.. I'd love to see someone do that. It'd be fast like a cat with mustard on its bum too :D

I should have bought the one that came up on eBay Motors UK a year or so ago. It was properly shabby, but structurally solid and would have made a great base for something truly, truly....well, dreadful. But it would have been cool :)
