Hey,

Didnt realise it wasnt included, can I download it anywhere else?

I saw the one on microsofts website for XP, but it fails to install.

Please, any help?

Thanks

The Files & Settings Transfer Wizard?

AFAIK its only a download for XP not for vista. Shouldn't have stripped it out ;)

Yeah, apparently it is on the Vista disc, but I cant find it?

I never had a disc, I reinstalled over it thinking itd be better with the lite (which it kinda is) but I need this program :(

It seems theres actually much more missing that I need, and I think I might go to XP!

Really appreciate the offer though!

I thought it was included, under the name 'windows easy transfer' in accessories, system tools. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Not that i'd use it anyway, i'd rather do it manually.

It should be, but the version I got is 'lite'. It has unneccasary stuff removed, but obviously some is needed..

Why do people want lite versions anyway? It's very unlikely to increase speed and hard drives are so large these days. Why would you want to make it smaller. Just turn of the services you don't wont.

basically he's downloaded a pirated version

close thread.

if it wasn't pirated, then you'd have the original and could build your own

never used transfer wizard tbh

WTF! Windows is like the only software you can legally torrent.. If you have a windows key you can distribute the software.

It was just a question.. And i got the lite version as I had no DVD burner! the lite fitted on a normal CD, but ive gone back to XP for now till I sort it out :)

And Bledd, FYI, most new computers dont come with CDs of any sorts.. Thats why theyre available to download, but you have the key on the tower etc.

Yeah, I was under the impression if you had a diskless version you could at least download it from an official source. That's how I got my copy.

What source? I had everyone telling me to just torrent it. Besides, I have a DVD writer now and Vista is running, rubbishly, but its running.

PS. Mount it in daemons tools to do an install which formats the drive? Great plan.
