Help! Installed Vista lite but need Windows Transfer wizard!

What source? I had everyone telling me to just torrent it. Besides, I have a DVD writer now and Vista is running, rubbishly, but its running.

PS. Mount it in daemons tools to do an install which formats the drive? Great plan.

your source was torrent, so its not a legal copy

Who the eff mentioned doing an install whilst mounted under daemon tools, didn't you ask about getting some files off a Vista DVD but didn't have a DVD-ROM/Writer?

Jeez, wish I hadn't have bothered.

Sorry, I wanted to perform a new install after getting stressed at that point.

Torrents are legal, illegal content on torrents arent though. Uncracked copies of vista arent illegal to torrent.

Maybe the question should be what exactly do you want to transfer across? I've never actually used any of the migration tools, have always manually copied the stuff I want across.

It was mostly emails, afaik, you cant just copy across the data.

Depending on your client, that is usually not true. If it's outlook, there are plenty of guides on the web where to find the PSTs etc and import them. It's nice n easy.

Yep listen to the man :) google the email client and they should tell you which files you need to copy off i.e. PST, OST, DBX etc...
