I'm trying to install FarCry and it just isn't happening.
I bought the game a few years ago and installed it with no problems but never really got round to playing it so I uninstalled it. Now, after getting my X1950Pro I thought I'd give it the game a proper go.
When I put the DVD in the drive it sort of reads a little and then nothing happens. If I try to access the disk via ‘My Computer’ it just says there is no disk in the drive.
I've had a look at some of the FarCry forums and found incompatibility issues with certain DVD drives. My drive is a NEC DVD_RW ND-4551A which isn’t mentioned as being incompatible. Following suggestions, I removed all CD/DVD copying software (including Nero) and have upgraded the drive's firmware but I'm still having no luck.
I have upgraded various parts of my system since I originally installed it but apart from a newer DVD drive I can't think of anything else that would cause the problem.
If anyone knows of any way to fix this it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
