Help Installing New Graphics Card

Googled your problem and it should automatically read your new graphics card and disable onboard graphics maybe there is a problem else where.
Latest post was 2004 so mobo now should sort it out without you having to disable anything. confused as well.

Start in safe mode, remove the onboard drivers, restart, start in safe mode again and install the proper drivers for the new card.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, change the BIOS back to onboard first so you can actually boot into safe mode. Then once the drivers are off, change back to PCI-E and install the ATI drivers.

Tbh i cant see how it will effect how long it takes windows to boot up tho any 1 any ideas ?

It could well be a problem with the gfx drivers trying to find the onboard but it's just getting the new card instead, and this can cause errors or issues that very possibly can cause windows to slow to a crawl.

What harm is there in trying? If I was installing a new card that's the procedure i'd follow anyway. Have edited my above post to make it clearer.

It won't let me install the drivers properly. -_- . And my mobo is the ECS AMD690GM-M2.

I really can't understand it at all. It may load up windows, but it could take forever.

Could be a PSU problem? What PSU do you have?

Xilence 480W PSU, less than 6 months old.

But even after i disable the on board graphics, it says this.

Could be you havn't got enough power for it, as you only have 2x 12v rails (according to the specs), ones at 15a, ones at 12a, so try disconnecting some drives (like DVD/CD Roms, extra hard drives), and just try booting with the card and the drive thats got XP on connected.

Actually, could this problem be anything to do with my motherboard? Because it is relatively old and not really that good.

tried the actual card in another pc to make sure it is actualy working fine.?

How would I reset CMOS?

And in what order would I do things? Reset, put new card in, wait 15 mins .. or?
