Hi All I,m after some info regarding installing Windows 7 ,i currently have Vista on my hard drive ,but want to install the full retail version on Windows 7 on my drive ( where Vista is loaded ) ,how do i go about it ?

Thanks and then will it tell me what to do ? ie partitions etc don,t i have to format the drive before loading windows 7 ?

Yeh boot from the DVD and it will boot up an installer. After sometime it will present you a screen which you can tell it where to install to. I would recommend a clean install, meaning that you should format the partition with Vista on it. Then install on that.

You can also change the partitions at this stage too. Not recommended if you already have data on another partition.

It depends if you want to keep vista or not.

Otherwise boot from CD and follow the instructions, it will probalbly ask if you want to upgrade and to save the files from the previous installation.

If your not bothered about what is on your hard drive, just continue with installation, and when you get to the screen with the option to choose which drive. choose your primary drive. "C"

" it will inform you that there is information on this drive that you will lose"

There is options on that screen to format the drive aswell

djkay was quicker to reply...
