This is basically a post I made in my other thread, but the title didn't demonstrate the current issue. And I really NEED this sorting quickly, so any help is really really appreciated.

Ok, I've got the enclosure off. I have a rather strange problem now. Some help with this one would REALLY be appreciated.

First of all, I just want to point out that there aren't any jumpers on the drive itself. So this could be the source of the problem itself.

Basically, as you can see, "Disk 1" is the external hard drive now inside the computer. But it's not showing up in My Computer, and it doesn't have a drive letter assigned. And apparently, all the space is free on the drive? :/

A bit mashed up to say the least.

Also, when I right click the drive on the bit at the bottom all the options are greyed out bar 'Delete Partition' and 'help'.

Can anyone help me? If so, thankyou VERY much.

Just noticed something else, on the IDE connector of the circuit board within the enclosure, the solder has been knocked off one of the pins on the opposite side to the connector. Is it possible that this could have prevented the drive from being detected when it was in the enclosure?

What is it you want help with? Looks like you have lost all of your data on the drive - presumably you had something on it in the first place? Right click -> format, sorted.

So would you say that I've DEFINITELY lost all the data? :( I can see that it says 100% free etc, but I was just hoping that it was some kind of misread error.

But if I've definitely lost it, then I'll format the partition.

Thanks for the post.

Thanks guys.

fobose, downloaded PC Inspector File Recovery, and it's working a treat. I don't understand how I can retrieve all of this deleted data. Strange, but fantastic. Thanks for pointing it out to me.
