Hi so this is my first time build off a pc a read into this a great deal before deciding to go ahead with it i got a list of things i would need and bought them my parts list is:
asus P8Z68-V LX
Intel core I7 2600k (LGA1155)
XFX PRO SERIES 850W PSU core edition
a Seagate barracuda 2tb harddrive
i already had:
a jeantech aqua case
fans
an anti static braclet
dvd drive

Anyway i connected them all up correctly wearing my anti static bracelet i then pressed the power button and the lights came on and the fan got like 2-3 turns and then cut off there is a green light when the motherboard has power when i press the power button and it dose that i have to pull the power cord out of the psu and wait for the green light to go off then i plug the cord back in and press the power button and it dose the same thing again

Please help as soon as possible :(

Make sure all the RAM is in the slots properly.

The third one away from the processor definately looks iffy but check the others as well.

Edit:

And also which make and model of RAM is it.

Do you have a multimeter?
Try jumping the PSU and checking the voltages.

Try reseating all the componets. Then try powering it all on the box that the M/B came in. Then short the power switch. See if it works.

Hi yeah all the ram was pushed in i realized after taking the pic and i don't know what make it is i bought it in a bundle (new) with the i7 and motherboard anyway i took it to pcworld today i let them have a look as im new to it and dont want to cause any damage
thanks all il update it when i get it back :)

I think they will cause more damage than you ever could!

Hope you get this fixed but I wouldn't have taken it to them! thats what this forums for.....

Love the case, what does it look like from the front?

+1 i would never take it to a place like pc world

Yes I remember I had a crap PC from like 5 years ago took it to them(didnt know too much bout PCs back then) for an issue during boot up. they were gonna charge 100's of pound to fix it. I was like no chance(obvious rip off).

Looks vile, see the small 80mm fans and the front.

PMSL +1 how true a statement is that, plus they will charge you stupid amounts of money and not actually do anything.

My very first build didnt start up, simple thing was, i put the power switch and power led on the wrong connectors, which meant it was never going to boot up unless i switched them over, easy mistake to make, however glad i made it that early mistake, as i always double check now :)
